Take 2 of yellow accent triangles and place with flat sides touching, forming a diamond shape, in center of pommel.  Sew on with tails so it looks like one piece.
OPTIONAL:
With 4.5mm hook
attach yarn in ridges from the FLO, BLO and crab stitch across each ridge. Tuck tails to back of project and secure. (see video to clarify)

Blade: with 6.0 mm hook

Worked in round without slst, be sure to use stitch marker
Foundation sc 14, join to first fsc with slst and secure bottom of ring with tail.

Round 19 to 23- sc around (20)
STOP at this point and add both sets of 3 triangles to both sides of the blade in the triforce shape.
Round 24- 8 sc, sc dec, 8 sc, sc dec (18)
Round 25 to 48- sc around (18) (add more rounds here if you want a longer blade.)
Round 49- 7 sc, sc dec around. (16)
Round 50- 6 sc, sc dec around (14)
Round 51- 5 sc, sc dec around (12)
Round 52- 4 sc, sc dec around (10)
Round 51- 3 sc, sc dec around (8)
Round 52- 2 sc, sc dec around (6)
Round 53-  1 sc, sc dec around (4)
At this point it is really difficult to see the stitches so you can either slst together and finish off or do another sc dec and finish off.  Chain one to finish and stuff.

Assembly:

I used a wooden dowel (¼ inch) from Wal-Mart (cost 0.23) cut to about 22 ½ inches long and wrapped it in quilt batting to stuff for my first sword. (it was a halloween prop). I just stuffed the very end of the hilt with poly-fill and then used the dowel to stuff both the hilt and blade. You then attach by sewing with the tails. It's ok if the stitches stretch a bit in the middle because the pommel will cover it.
I then took both of the pommel pieces and sewed them on just under the bottom of the ridge on the hilt for about 4 stitches across.  Then I sewed the top and sides of the 2 pommel pieces together and stuffed with batting. After stuffing I finished sewing across the bottom of pommel. Do the other side and sew the bottom middle to the blade and sew in the ends.  Done!
One master sword.

Alternatively you could just stuff with poly-fil or scrap yarn/cloth. Put together the same way and you have a stuffed master sword!

I may regret using the wooden dowel (as my son can get a bit over excited when he is allowed to have any kind of stick) but cardboard was just to flimsy.
